You are going to find a child proof list in the ebook, so these are just extras.

Install a good security screen at your front door with a locking lock. This will prevent kids from leaving, and from anyone coming in that you aren't expecting.

Make sure that you have a large fire extinguisher in the house, and the garage. Fires happen when you least expect them and better to be safe than sorry.

Make sure that blinds with ropes are take care of. Either cut the ropes, or tie them up so no one can choke on them.

Don't let the kids wear hooded outfits (or the like) that have strings on them. These are choking hazards we don't even think of!

If you smoke -- make sure your cigerettes and lighters/matches are up on a top shelf where no one can make them. I'm not going to give you a lecture about not smoking, because we all hear that every day...but it would be a wonderful gift to your family if you could stop!
